Privacy policy

Wooldot knows that you are concerned about how information about you is used and shared, and we value your trust that we will treat it confidentially. This text describes our personal information policy. By visiting Wooldot, you also accept the methods described below.

What information does Wooldot collect?
Information about customers helps us to constantly improve your shopping experience with Wooldot. Below, we describe what information we collect.

Why does Wooldot collect information?
We collect information so we can deliver the products you have ordered.

Information you give us:
We receive and store any information you submit directly on our website or otherwise: Name, Address, Postal Code, Town/City, Email and Telephone Number. You are free to omit this information, but that will preclude you from taking advantage of many of our customer services. We collect the information you give us, for example, to: respond to your inquiries, customise future shopping visits to accommodate your requirements, improve our business, ship your order and communicate with you.

Automatic information:
We receive and store certain information every time you are in contact with us. For example, like many other businesses, we use “cookies”, and we receive technical information whenever your web browser visits Wooldot. At the bottom of the page you can read more specifically about the information we collect. A number of companies offer you tools to visit web sites anonymously. It goes without saying that not being able to recognise you prevents us from personalising your experiences with Wooldot, but we want you to know that such tools exist.

Email communication:
If you do not wish to receive newsletters or other emails from us, you need to unsubscribe from newsletters and notifications.

Credit card security:
We guarantee that we do not store sensitive information on our own server.
All credit card information is entered in a secure environment (SSL) and is transmitted in encrypted form to the payment service.
When you pay for an order by credit card, this gives Wooldot the right to charge the amount when we ship your order.

What about Cookies?
Cookies are alphanumeric “identifications”, which we transfer to your hard disc via your web browser. They enable our system to recognise your browser and to provide features such as automatic login and permanent shopping carts so you can store products there in the course of several visits.
Your browser can process the use of cookies in several ways. This includes completely excluding the use of them. But cookies are a prerequisite for taking full advantage of the facilities offered by Wooldot. That is why we recommend you to permit the use of cookies in one form or another.

In Internet Explorer 5.x you can delete cookies in the menu ‘Tools’ -> ‘Internet Settings’ -> ‘Delete Cookies’.

Does Wooldot share the information it collects?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we do not sell or swap it with other parties.

Business transfer:
As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets. In such transactions, customer information is generally one of the assets transferred. Furthermore, in the unlikely event of the acquisition of Wooldot or parts of it, customer information will be a natural part of such a transaction.

Protection of Wooldot and others:
We release account and other personal information when we believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law. See our rules for use or for protecting the rights, property or security of Wooldot, our users or others. This includes the exchange of information with other companies in order to counteract fraud and embezzlement: for example, in connection with a credit card. You can always gain access and take exception to a registration in accordance with the regulations of the personal data protection act.

With your consent:
In addition to what we have outlined above, we will let you know if your information is going to be shared with a 3rd party, and you will have the option of saying no.

How securely is my information stored?
The information, which Wooldot collects/receives is stored in a database, which is protected by multiple levels of access controls and encryption. However, the information that is transmitted is not encrypted. But this does not apply to credit card information, which is encrypted when transmitted.
It is important to protect yourself against misuse of your password and any unauthorised use of your computer. Always be sure to log off on computers that you share with other people. We store information for 5 years.
